Leaving Behind A Legacy!

By:Stephen Kovach.

Luke 6:43 For a good tree bringeth not forth, corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

Luke 6:44 For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes.

Luke 6:45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.

One might say "ouch" for it is impossible for us to think of a thing where we are in the place of "bringing good fruit". But there is a answer! If we can just read and obey the Word of God I believe we can overcome some things in our lives.

Now everyone knows that. But the point I am trying to make is this. Are we just going to sit back and watch a good deed go undone? What about the parable of the good Samaritan?

"And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which, stripped him of his raiment, and wounded, him, and departed, leaving him half dead. And by chance there came down a certain priest, that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side.

But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was:, and when he saw him, he had compassion on him." (Luke 10:30-33). Where has our passion gone? even if not doing a good deed but, for GOD! Where it counts.

Samaritan's where considered "half-breeds" to the Jews and they where of no good. But did that taunting voice stop him? don't think so. " And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him." (Luke10:34). How come when we our faced with those, that give us the beating either it be with words or by them doing something embarrassing to us, in there time of need we think it is there just desserts?

What happened to being meek? What happened to being humble? What happened to " And to love him with all the heart and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbor as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices." (Mark 12:33).

Can we let our fire of passion for others simmer? We ( Christians ), need to be Christ-like Then why can we not act like it? Did Jesus ever lose passion for us? No He did not! Even though He got mad for them defiling the temple ( House of prayer ), " And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves. " (Matthew 21:13).

Still passion was found in His heart! If the meaning of a Christian should in fact be Christ-like. Then should we not prove it to the world? If the world can not tell a difference, between us and the worlds own......then we got problems. If we are suppose to "contend for the faith" ( Jude 1:3 )
Then why are we just sitting on the pew and not doing anything about the matter?

I can go through wal-mart or any other public place and see people that need the truth, and I am not doing anything about. I could tell them about Jesus, But I don't. But it is our life that preaches to people the most. If we can avoid the things of the world people will know. And then want to know about what we are.

I was told not to force a flower to blossom. If I did, then I would destroy the flower. Why are we constantly trying to force things that could harm our walk with God?

Listen it is not a game people. there are things happening right now! In a different world that we can not see with these eyes. There are spirits literally attacking people's health, there marriage, even there kids right now.

And we have the audacity to say we are doing to much? I say we can not do enough for the Kingdom of God!

This sick and twisted world has become a place where people want two minutes out of a sermon from a forty-five minute preacher! Where people want one mile out of a two mile man! What kind of living is this?

Where we can leave a stinking GAME and feel the very emotions from the player's, and the electricity from the game? When we can not even give God any of that when we are at Church?

But now, the question is this. What type of legacy are we leaving behind?" You are still a teenager you do not have to think about that" Oh, but let me you. I can worry about who is dating who? And all this other garbage and filth from the world? Fine, I will play this game. What have you done today with God?

Now we turn to this. How often do we actually pray in all sincerity? How often do we actually care about people that has nothing else? All I know is this, I must get in-tune with God. If I won't then, there is nobody that can do that for me. It is just plain and simply.

You can not worship God for someone else. If you could then I would worship God for my family that is not in the truth. I would worship God for those that can not even carry on.

I need passion for people. We need to leave behind us a legacy that people around us can remember us by, but not for our glory, but for the glory and honor of God. We all know that Jesus was perfect. So to some of us that think it is unfair to shape our lives after Him then we can use this then.

Look at David. He was a man after God's own heart! ( I Samuel 13:14 ). " Well, David was a king." So, that did not matter he still sinned. But, he was quick to repent. And even though he committed adultery with Bath-Sheba. Then he was told that she conceived, after this daivd gave a letter to Joab to put Uriah (Bath-Sheba's Husband) in the front of battle (that he may die). Well, that's murder. Not to mention the other sins he committed.

But, through all that. He was quick to repent and still managed live for God and seek His heart. And teach his son (Solomon) and give him wisdom. So now you know (partly) David's legacy. Now, what is yours? What have we done for God that can, when we leave this world (before the rapture IF that is God's will), where our lives literally marked the steps for the next ones?

Jeremiah to me has left a incredible legacy behind him. To be called the weeping prophet. Oh, what name! So much passion he had for those people. Where is my passion, where is my legacy? We are working on it right now! Whatever we do, good or bad, we will be known be our fruit! (Matthew 12:33). Are we even ready for this responsibility? God wants us to sow good things and reap His gifts.

Which can be found though-out the Bible. But, these I name are of the fruit of the spirit. They are: love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance. Are we so spiritually dead that, we can not see that these are the way to a effective prayer life, to a better relationship with God, and to a better understanding of what God expects of us?

We will continually serve God with all our heart and mind, and we all need to keep his commandments!

Even though the road may seem worthless, pale, not much of anything. You keep pushing in prayer and you WILL find you're answer from God, and therefore, seeing that finish line waiting for you. Keep up the fight! Contend for the faith. Be followers of God, not of men.

And please never give up. I pray of you keep the Word of God in you're hearts and minds!
Have a great week and weekend! Keep God First! God Bless.
