God wants to speak faith into your life, and wash you out with his word. living for God is more than just looking the part; Christ wants to have an intimite relationship with you. for example, if you realy love someone, you want to talk to them for more than just one day out of the week, right? a good relationship would consist of communication, thats why its called a relationship! because you are constantly relating feelings and thoughts with the other person. so if you claim to have a relationship with Jesus Christ, do you determine that because you pray every sunday, or do you put that up to the fact that you talk to Jesus every day, and confess to him your sins on a daily basis? well if you struggle in this areas, here's a few pointers to keep you busy for a couple weeks. just try reading it every day, or at least portions of it... study the scriptures, to show God how much you love him! he is realy alive, and he realy has something to say to you!
God wants to speak faith into your life, and wash you out with his word.
Ephesians 5:25-26
25Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
26That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
27That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
John 13:7
Jesus answered and said unto him, What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter.
8Peter saith unto him, Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me.
9Simon Peter saith unto him, Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head.
not just the places I choose not to go with my feet, but also the dirtieness of my hands from getting my hands dirty in the wrong kinds of things, getting involved in situations when it was none of my business… wash my mind, and clean me out from all unclean thoughts that I have allowed to ravish through my mind.)
10Jesus saith to him, He that is washed needeth not save to wash his feet, but is clean every whit: and ye are clean, but not all.
14If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet.
15For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.
16Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him.
Setting an example of humbling our attitudes, getting ourselves out of the picture and letting God have the lime light.. loving one another…
17If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.
Serving others is guaranteed by Christ to satisfy us, and appease us…. From experience, one will know that the satisfaction is uncamperable to any other form of satisfaction they received when they were just doing things for themselves
You will receive faith that moves mountains when you listen to the voice of God as he speaks to you through his word. the world can sometimes be loa
Romans 10:17
17So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Elijah was runing from God in the following chapter, making excuses for his fear, because he was the only prophet, and he feared for his life. have you been in a situation when you have tried several other resources but Christ? stop running, be still, know that He alone is God; know that he alone has the power to bring you out of your situation! he wants to bring you to a place of peace and prosperity, he's inviting you to come closer to him!
1 Kings 19:12
12And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.
if you hear the voice of a man in the wilderness, it would probably be remote, kinda hard to hear... so Isaiah must have been listening pretty carefully....
Matthew 3:3
3For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.
listen for the small, calm voice of the Savior in the midst of loud caiotic noises of life
John 10:27-28
My Sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me; and I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish.
Our goal to tune out all distractions and focus on the voice of God
When all the other voices of life, tempting you to have sex, smoke , drink, all the other commercials of the world, trying to persuade you to give in, begin screaming realy loud, they have to come from somewhere… turn the source of that noise off, because it is trying to overlapse the voice of God, which is sometimes small, so we are promted to deny any other source of noise that trys to tune out that sound, so we can hear the voice of God, clearly and commercial free; to stay on task, gurenteed to stay consistent and focused.
Listen to the encourageing voice of god, and ignore those around you who try to influence you in a negative way. Rember the devil is a liar, and when he tries to remind you of who you used to be, hes lieing again because that is NOT who are now… you are sanctified, you are washed…. Old things are passed away, behold, all things are made new.. don't listen to that voice… God has forgiven you, and cast your sin into the sea of forgetfulness.
I Corinthians 6:11
And such were some of you. But ye are sanctified, ye are washed, ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.
2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is made a new creature; old things are passed away; behold, all things are made new.
1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Psalms 103:12
As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.
Don't listen to the wrong voices
Romans 3:4
God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.
if your friends judge you in a way that constantly hurts your feelings, why do you hang around with them? ask them to stop, and expain why. if they refuse to, then their not realy your friends. you can do much better than that.
what man has to say about you pales utterly in comparison to what God has to say about you. man did not create you. God is the one who formed you in your mothers womb, and he alone has the power to truely judge you. God will have the finall say, and whoever has hurt you in the past will have to bow at the feet of Jesus anyways
John 8:44 He (the devil) was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
Be Patient with God; he knows what he's doing!!
Galatians 2:21
21I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.
Psalm 95:8-11
8Harden not your heart, as in the provocation, and as in the day of temptation in the wilderness:
9When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my work.
10Forty years long was I grieved with this generation, and said, It is a people that do err in their heart, and they have not known my ways:
11Unto whom I sware in my wrath that they should not enter into my rest.
I refuse to be compared to the Israelites, who seen God do miracles, but kept complaining about the present, and not trusting the one god had put in authority over them. But I trust that god knows EXACTLY what he's doing, and that he has a reason for everything he allows me to go through.
In this way I enter into the rest of God, into his promises, because it conforts me to know that I am in good hands. we have the option of getting out of the cycle of life and the circular pattern of the routine; God has opened up a door for us to step out beyond the plains of our confortable boundaries, and take us places we have never been before; the only giant that stands in our way is a giant mirror.
The giants we know God can handle; but its ourselves and the way we see are selves that will ultimately affect the outcome of our decision; it will dertimine the inheritance we receive; will we compare ourselves as grasshoppers to the enemy we have authority over; take a closer look at faith
Hebrews 10:38-39
38Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.
39But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.
