Sorry I have not blogged in a loooooooooong while. I am praying that well change soon.
Doing some reading my Literature book this morning, I came across something called "Aesop's Fables". Which is something I have never heard of until now. Fables are short stories with quite an amazing meaning. Here is one of the Fables I had the privilege reading today."The Bear and the Two Travelers."
The Bear and the Two Travelers
TWO MEN were traveling together, when a Bear suddenly met them on
their path. One of them climbed up quickly into a tree and
concealed himself in the branches.
The other, seeing that he must be attacked, fell flat on the ground, and when the Bear came up and felt him with his snout, and smelt him all over, he held
his breath, and feigned the appearance of death as much as he
could.
The Bear soon left him, for it is said he will not touch
a dead body. When he was quite gone, the other Traveler
descended from the tree, and jocularly inquired of his friend
what it was the Bear had whispered in his ear. "He gave me this
advice," his companion replied. "Never travel with a friend who
deserts you at the approach of danger."

OK let's get started. We read in this story two men traveling probably on a mountain trail, when suddenly danger shows them its face. One of the two men climb the tree and the other in fear of his life "played dead." As you have read the Bear smells the man on the ground and moves along but, upon his departure the Bear leaves our friend on the ground with a very true message. "Never travel with a friend who deserts you at the approach of danger." How true are the words of Aesop in this Fable.
There are times we go through hard trails in our life and even need someone to lean on. Someone to be there and help us, when we go through hard times and trails. We may have a friend like the one in this Fable. Being afraid and running for his life and thinking about himself.
"Well I am going through the ringer, you do not know what I am going though, my friend has helped me in my trails" That's good but, when the path darkens and the road becomes rougher, who will help your friend AND you?
A friend can help you through a trail, or they can put you through pure calamity. Let me tell you something, when you stumble who will keep your balance? Or even if you fall into something who will be there to help? Let me tell you of a friend that has picked me up too many times to count, has helped me keep my balance when a stumble, even has comforted me when I am broken, and has given me joy unspeakable and full of glory!
JESUS CHRIST is the perfect friend for us this hour He will never leave us. "I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you." Jesus spoke these words in John 14:18. That means through the trails, through the pit falls, through the times when we fall short of what God wants, He is still a God that will forgive our short comings.
There are life lessons we learn in pitfalls and through trails. Please do not let your mind wonder around,it is the worse thing that you could do. I have been there and the out come of such is sin. Letting our mind go causes us to go into "coast mode"
What is coast mode you ask? Well you just go through the day not really focusing on anything. Since we are not focusing on anything the devil has a field-day with it. Puts things in there that does not belong. Let us keep our hearts on God. I know this blog has been dry and probably boring but, if we can learn to trust in God, and hold to His unchanging hand, the devil will not be able to anything about it.
"Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." John 14:27.
Remember this verse through the weeks to come. Have a blessed week! God Bless you.
