what shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid, Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law:...(Rom.7:7)
Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just and good.(Rom.7:12)
Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. (1John 3:4)
Bible tells us to look into the perfect law of liberty(James1:25). Let's let the Word of God be a mirror and show us what is in our hearts that should not be there.
I am going to take you through some of the 10 commandments now.
Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.(Exodus 20:16), this is the one about lieing. NOW BE HONEST WITH YOURSELF. Have you ever told a lie in your life? If you have , what does that make you? (a liar. Irregardless of how many you have told big or small a lie is a lie. just like if a murderer was to kill one person that makes him a murderer , whether how big or how small the person one time makes him a murderer, and it's the same with lieing.)
Thou shalt not steal (Exodus20:15) Have you ever stolen something in your life? (Irregardless of its value)Think about; .... what does that make you if you have stolen something? ( A Thief)
Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain;...( Exodus 20:7) Have you ever done this. Taken God's name and used it as a curse word. (If you have it is called blasphemy, it is a horrible thing, you've taken the one who has given you life and used his name as a curse word) if you have done this what does that make you?( a blasphemor)
Thou shalt not commit adultery(Exodus 20:14)Remember what Jesus said in Matthew 5:27-28 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: 28But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. Have you ever done this in your heart? what does that make you? ( an adulterer in heart)
Thou shalt not kill(Exodus 20:13) What does the Bible say in 1John 3:15." Whosover hateth his brother is a murderer." (1John3:15). If you have hatred in your heart towards someone,( then what does that make you?) ( a murderer in your heart)
I have taken you through 5 of the 10 Commandments how many did you break?
One day we will stand before God and if God was to justly judge us on the 10 Commandments would we be innocent or guilty? ( would you stand before him as that liar? that thief? that blasphemor? that adulterer in heart, that murderer in heart?)
Would you go to Heaven?
"Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,10Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God."(1 Cor.6:9-10).
7Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain. (Exodus 20:7).
" ...and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him. "( 1 John3:15).
... and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. (Rev.21:8).
You wouldn't go to Heaven, you would go to a place called Hell. Does that concern you? It should! It should concern us all!
The truth of the matter is all of us have sinned and come short of the glory of God, there was only one who lived a perfect sinless life and that was Jesus Christ, God's son. Who God gave for you and I. (John3:16).We all don't deserve Heaven We deserve N/A because we have broken God's laws.
( Imagine yourself in a courtroom, you have committed a horrible crime. they caught you red handed, there is no doubt that you are guilty. the Judge asks you. " Im going to have to send you to jail because of the crimes you have committed, but if you can pay the fine of $50Billion dollars then you can go out of this court a free man. well since you don't have that kind of money just laying around it looks like you would have to go to jail for the crimes. The judge is about to sentence you to the prison, when all of the sudden somebody who you don't even know slaps open the big doors and yells out "Judge wait, Judge wait, i know this person has done wrong and they do deserve to go to jail for their crimes, but Judge here you go, here is a check for $50billion dollars to let this person go free, im doing this for this person because I love them and care about them" You would be really grateful for that person who did that.
Well that is what Jesus did for you and I . we were guilty of breaking the commandments and we deserve to go to N/A for them. But God in His mercy gave His only begotten Son Jesus, and Jesus went to that Cross, and payed the fine at the Cross for you and I. Jesus said "It is finished" The fine was payed for you and I. And all we have to do now to accept this payment for our sins is call upon the Lord. We repent of our sins(that means forsake them! Hate them because God hates them) and trust in the Lord and His finished work at Calvary, that He died in my place, was buried and rose on the 3rd day.
what were the two things that we need to do? repent, and trust in Jesus and His finished work of Calvary.( Eph.2:8-9; Rom.10:9-13; 1John1:9; Luke13:3), then Once you repented and put your trust in the Lord, you need to then read your Bible daily, and do what it says. and commune with the Lord, and get in a real Bible Believing Church that preaches the blood of Jesus. if you need any help finding a good church then just write back and see if I could find one for you.
I hope you do give this real thoughts. There is a Heaven and a Hell, The Lord wants you to go to Heaven (2Peter 3:9)
