The bible is the Word of God.  It is a guide book for all of live.  If this country would get back to IN God we trust and start using the Bible to pass legislature, then the laws would line up with Gods way of thinking and we would be much better off as a country.  Yes, we have freedom of speech, but when our freedom of speech crosses the Word of God, the Word of God  always should takes precidence.  Just like in the home, the husband is the head of the home. Final decisions should go through the husband.  Same as with legislature.  Gods word Is the final say so.  If our theology crosses God, well it is our opionion, but Gods way is undisputably right.

Our problem as a people is we tend to ostracise those who speak out against ungodly things and acts publicly. We have a catholic idea of christianity all formality and quiet piety. Unfortunately they weren't that way during the chrusades.

If we go back to the word and look at perhaps legislature.  How would new legislature been formed?  How would new laws be made?  What was the process?  Laws that were made that perhaps were not pleasing to God, what was the end result?

Perhaps we can all learn something here if we are nice.  I don't know the answers to alot of this stuff.  I sincerely would like to learn if we all can be nice and ask our questions  or give our answers with a learning mentality that would be nice.

Some are not worried about being nice. They have a political agenda to push.

That would be a sad thing to allow to enter into the Church. Political agendas do not beling in the Church.

I do however find thatthe Word of God tells us more often to be loving and kind, to others.  I do know there is a place where the Word says to be done with someone and not dangle our pearl before the swine.  That was however the exception and not the rule.

Matthew 22:36-40

36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law.
37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38 This is the first and great commandment.
39 And second is like unto it, thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.
40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Again, I do realize there is a place we are to no longer entertain the foolish of heart and the ones who are not adhereing to the wooing of the Lord.  I realize ther eis a place to let go of a reprobates hand and no longer try to guide them.  It changes not my love and desire to see them changed.

So many of the arguements on these threads have been to win a battle.  What good doe sit do to win a battle and lose the soul?  I am init for the soul not the battle.  If through a battle a portion of scriputre can be absorbed, planted, watered and prepared untoi harvest I wil lcontinue until the Lord through the Holy Ghost tells me not to.

If we would all adhere to the discerning of the Holy Ghost in us there would not be any ugly, threatening, taunting less than loving posts on here. There may even be progress made.

God Bless

One problem................if we have leaders using the Bible for legislating, this may turn into a Theocracy, and State religion.  This is what our signers of the Constitution wanted to avoid.

Instead, freedom of religion was established, with majority vote of the people, and checks and balances in our govt.

That is why we as Christians need to speak out against bad laws that are the result of lobbies of special interest groups.  We also need to push for politicians to uphold Christian values.

Yes, we have multiple religious beliefs in this country, but, we don't want to become a Theocracy like Iran, Saudi Arabia, etc.
