Coming through here once more because I know this is a safe place for me to say this and not really get in trouble. After reading this post and having my input in about how the phrase "omg" bothers me so much, it seems that it sticks out to me much more now.
I nonchalontly mentioned it to a friend of mine that I didn't agree with her saying this phrase and she said that her "g" stood for goodness. As nicely and simply as I could, I told her that if she didn't ever put the stress on "goodness" that people would take it the wrong way. I once heard a sermon that I'll use this as an example. Even if in your opinion you used "goodness" in the place of "god", if you didn't say goodness or say "omg-ness", then it's still pretty much sinning, because it looks like sin.

So yeah, there is my input, this topic frustrates me because I can't stand hearing people use my Jesus' Holy name, the name that saves us from condemnation, the name by which we were made, in the WRONG manner.

I have always made sure I do not use God's name in vain by using His name directly or through slang. In fact, I'm very very strict concerning myself. However, I do have friends that do (even within the church), and, honestly, I cannot judge them.

Whenever I'm on facebook or another social networking site, sometimes I will say OMGoodness. I NEVER leave off the "Goodness" part of it. For the longest time I would say "Oh my goodness", but everyone understands OM to stand for "Oh my" and then I just add goodness to the end! It's an abbreviated form for me.

Anyway, I was just letting my opinion known.

I used to say stupid idiot when I bumped or stumped my toe lol when I was about 5 I used to stump my toe literally every day!!!  and I would scream bloody murder because I would get so furious with myself.. or the cement.. lol think I'll just reach down and punch the cement because it hurt my toe. LOL
