Gen 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. I was wondering if anyone can tell me why God created man? Please give bible referances for your thoughts. No speculations please.

Isa 43:7 7 Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him. KJV Isa 44:21 21 Remember these, O Jacob and Israel; for thou art my servant: I have formed thee; thou art my servant: O Israel, thou shalt not be forgotten of me. KJV Isa 49:5 5 And now, saith the LORD that formed me from the womb to be his servant, to bring Jacob again to him, Though Israel be not gathered, yet shall I be glorious in the eyes of the LORD, and my God shall be my strength. KJV I believe it was for fellowship, to serve him as a servant of Love. Not for a debt but out of Love. Not out of necessity, but out of Love. Anyway, thats my two cents on the matter. I am sure there are many more verses that cover it as well.

Thank you Bro G. I wil wait to see if anyone else adds anything before I respond. But I like what you have to say "I believe it was for fellowship, to serve him as a servant of Love. Not for a debt but out of Love. Not out of necessity, but out of Love. Anyway, thats my two cents on the matter."

I know that you didn't want speculations, but, I agree with Bro. G. I think that it was for fellowship. How how often the human race has not kept in communication with our Creator! The Bible also speaks about Christ being the Bridegroom and the Church as His Bride! How much He loves us! And how often we treat Him terribly. If we treated our natural spouse the same way that we treat God, our marriages would be in deep trouble. With that last paragraph, God does want a relationship with us. In fact, a spiritual marriage. He has gone away to prepare a place for us, and is in communication with us continuously.

Well it looks like this is a dead end subject. I beleive that God created man solely for the perpose of a relationship with him. When Jesus came to earth to die it was to give us a door to the father. 2Co 5:18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation 2Co 5:19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Jesus said I am the door no man cometh to the father but by me. Where others see God seting things up thru the OT I simply see God attempting to retun to the way things were in the garden of eden. The plan of God was not to call a seperate people out and make them, how do I say this so I will be understood? It was never a literal earthly kingdom as the Jew beleived God was bringing It has aways been the church. Legalizim did not work in OT but grace has worked in the NT. God wants a people that will love him for love sake Claire many of the churches are just like many marriages today. They are a sham they may look good on the outside but in the privacy of their own home they are strangers. Many Pentecostal churches talk about the Holy Ghost and speak with tongues but don't manifest the fruits of the spirit. If one has a relationship with God one will manifest the fruits of the spirit and the gifts of the spirit will be at work in your life.
