At the age of 50 and being born and raise in the church. I could keep everyone reading for hours of the miricles God has done for and in my life. As a matter of fact I am about 2/3 of the way thru writting a book of the miricles God has done and the places he has lead me.
But I want to tell of something that happend to me in the last year. See my middle daughter and her husband had been looking for a church to attend since we all had left UPCI, that is another story. At this time my wife and I and our youngest daughter lived about 30 miles from my home town. I also worked another 12 miles away from my home town. Now I had been at my job for 4 years and it was a very good secure job. My position more than others. Now my testemony was not that good during this time even though they new I was a preacher. There was one man in the office that was realy crude and it seem I was the object of his off color coments. I had gotten to the point that I would respond back at him in like manor.
Now I leave that part of the story, my daughter and her husband were moving to a bigger house and we decided to move into their old house which would move us back to the city I was born and raised in but also 50 miles from work. The first Sunday In town I met my children at the church they had been going to now for a few months, my wife and I had been going about once a month when we could get into town.
The prophetic word is spoken in this church almost every Sunday, Now being raised in a Pentecostal Apostolic church all my life I had never witnessed the prophetic word in action. I was sceptical to say the least. Now understand what I thought was prophecy was not. There is not enough teaching of the spiritual gifts too many don't understand them but when they are at work in the church that church is a power house for God.
Now the first Sunday that we had move into town my wife was working the service was going good as usual them about the time Pastor Joey got up to preach the spirit moved and he started to prophecy. I had my head up watching the expresions on peoples faces change when the word came to someone, then to my suprise he called me. I stood with my eyes closed praying as the word was spoken to me the first few lines were pertenat to the situations I had been haveing then I began to wheep and did not listen to the rest as God began to move in my heart.
I don't know what was said I don't remmeber all I know is that from that forward my whole attitude was differant. Even my coworkers noticed the change. Now I was driving 50 miles one way to work getting up earlier but I had a differant veiw on life from God. Six months later I gave notice and quit my job and went to work for my son in law. But when I left my old job I left with a positive witness for Christ. And the man that I had the major problems with bought pizza and soda on my last day.
