This might sound kinda dumb but...the reason could be that those problems exsist because this world in which we live is not loving. If God made this world perfect then, why would we look foreward to heaven. Evil exsists in this world and the earth needs to be destroyed.

Ask them. If there was no "loving God" would we ever have a good day? Would the sun ever shine? Would there ever be delieverence? No. There would be nothing but pain, darkness and suffering. Gods love is manifested through the "good" in this wicked world.

That is my guess. Never used it...but its worth a shot!Cool

I enjoyed the previous answers as well.  As for my two cents.

I believe the trials we are ALLOWED to endure are designed to increase our faith in him.  We do have free will, and to strengthen our walk with him there is a need for trials.

If there were no consequences for negative behaviour what would the need to strive for perfection benefit us?

God is to wise to be mistaken, and God is to good to be unkind.

When sin came into this world (through the serpent, adam, and eve) God took away paradise from man....... God had told adam that if they ate of the fruit they would die....they didn't die a natural death but spiritual....God didn't walk with them like He once did...sin was now a part of life....and because of sin, evil exists........so the consequences of sin are the bad things that exist in life.....God gave man a free will to do as we please......serving God doesn't mean bad things won't happen to us, but serving God means we are held through those bad times.....we have the assurance that God will take us through it and at the end of it all .....a perfect paradise is there waiting for us........

John 3:16-21

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
KJV

It is our choice.  God doesn't do bad things. He allows them to occur.  It makes us walk taller.  Like a child with an "A" on their report card. Like the child who for the first time tied his/her shoe.

The Word of God says it will rain on the Just and the Unjust.  Its going to rain no matter where you are. Serving Godor not serving God, it is going to cost you something.  The fact that you exhist resounds Gods love for humanity and his desire to have you walk with him and not be condemmed.

He came to his created planet, interacted with his creation to save it from itself.  There is a major diffrence between evil and unfortunate events.

It is designed that we are born to die. Sounds odd, but so true.  We are born no diffrent than our saviour was in the matter of being born to die. Our purpose is to walk in him, his was to pave the road.

This morning I heard a very cool analogy.  The glass of water analogy most have heard, some say half empty some say half full.  Those are how mans eyes see it.  We only see the visible.  We must look for the intangible. The glass is actually full.  It is full of water and air.  Gods eyes see all things. In the "bad" things we trust on God to pull us through.  Maybe we should "SEEK" him in the storm.  Look for where he is in the midst of this storm.  He is there, always we know that.  We relax in faith, but do we seek him in the trouble we walk in?

Anyway, just more of some simple thoughts from a simple man

ok my youth leader gave me a story once. I dont know exactly how it went but i am going to summerize a little.

There was this lady who went to a blacksmith shop to see how silver was made. She sat and she watched. First the blacksmith would stick it in the fire to remove all infirmities. Then he would bang on it to form it into a differnt shape. He would put it back into the fire to remove more, and then shape it again. HE would do this until it was perfect, the way he wanted it to be. The lady asked, "when is it done?" the blacksmith replied." until i see my own reflection."

GOD is the blacksmith and we are the silver. He lets us go through the fire and through the flood, to make us perfect in HIS eyes. The only way to tell if we are done being worked on is if HE can see HIS reflection in us. He will let us go through things, maybe we will like it, maybe we wont, but it is all for the sole purpose of growning in our relationship with GOD. He doesnt like seeing us go through what we go through, HE cries in our pain, but it is necessary to show us that we are not in control, like people seem to think.

Its not all my answer, i just dont know what to say anymore... but i will come back i think....:P GOD BLESS!!!

Now that rocks!!! Good one

SO ONCE UPON A TIME~

i WAS approached with this question after 9/11

"if there is a loving God then why does evil exist" and so i set out to find the answer. So the answer I found was foiund in the midst of another large war with a group of people called the Medionites (B. C. 1249.)

They were conquerers who practiced scorched earth: they woudl conquer a land and ruin it so the people would not be able to live there. And they woudl take away all the women and slay the men - scary bunch of people ;) There was a man born in the middle of their rule - His name was Gideon

So those of us who know this story know that an angel appeared to him as he was hiding for his life and said in Judges 6:12   "The LORD [is] with thee, thou mighty man of valour. "

AND GIDEON SPITS IT RIGHT OUT!! THE SAME QUESTION IN VERSE 13

Judges 6:13   "if" the LORD be with us, why then is all this befallen us? ....but now the LORD hath forsaken us, and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites.

  • SO Gideon had the same question. "If Gods with me then why are my sisters taken captive, and my brothers slain, and my country in ruins! I mean - if God is with me, i wonder what it woudl be like if he wasnt!!" (im adding this for you melencholies who are like "where is that verse lol)
    • And so many of us ask God the same question right? "If your with me then why am i so hurt, why is there war, why!"

So the angel gives him the Answer - but its not waht i was expecting.

Judges 6:14   And the LORD looked upon him, and said, Go in this thy might, and thou shalt save Israel from the hand of the Midianites

.....THATS YOUR ANSWER? ......??? If we believe that the bible is the word of God and go by what it says, then sometimes we gotta think about what it DOESNT say and it DOESNT say WHY!

i can see Gideon's face like ..."that doesnt explain why!!?" but it does!

God had to make a great choice to give us free will knowing that he woudl be unleashing unspeakable evil but also - unspeakable Joy.

Heres the Answer: God doesnt give us a great reason Why, but he gives us a commandment to answer that question. and that commandment is GO!  The problem is us, but the Answer is US

Q: "WHY ARE THERE STARVING CHILDREN?"
A: "GO! AND FEED THEM"

Q: "WHY ARE PEOPLE GETTING SICK AND DIEING"
A: "GO AND PRAY FOR THEM!"

Whats the answer to the evil in the world? We are

iTS TIME FOR US TO OBEY GOD AND GO OUT! People are dying and decaying from the evil of this world, that is why God has us in his Power to GO and do somethign about it.

We ask this question wondering the answer when the answer is US.

Feedback saints ^_^
