By grace are ye saved through faith, it is the gift of God Eph. 2:8
we repent and put our faith and trust in Christ that is when we are saved, look at my blog on biblical salvation, at all the people who weren't baptized, but believed on the Lord!
Then Peter said unto them, REPENT, and be BAPTIZED every one of you in the NAME of Jesus Christ for the REMISSION OF SINS and ye shall receive the gift of the HOLY GHOST.
once you repent, and put your faith in trust in Christ you are saved.
then you get baptized, an outward sign of what has happened already inwardly in your heart. baptism doesn't save. It is Christ's blood that washes away sins.
John 14:17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot recieve because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him; but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
to say your not saved till you speak in tounges is wrong then.
ye shall recieve the Holy Ghost, now you can't recieve the Holy Ghost, until you have put your faith in Christ, to say you not saved until you speak in tounges is going against what Jesus said,
Mark 16:16...He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved: but he that believeth not shall be damned.
Notice it was believe!! He said , He that believeth not shall be damned.
many people who weren't baptized yet were believers in the Lord Jesus Christ.
thief on the cross, zaccheaus, cornelius' house heard the word recieved the Holy Ghost, then were baptized, and others in the blog saved without water baptism.
God bless you
.
last one John 3:5 Jesus answered , Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
regular water? no, Jesus is talking about spiritual things, if it was regular water wouldn't nicodemus know these things? v.10
water is used in a figurative sense of salvation (Jn.4:14, Isa. 12:3) of the Spirit baptism ( Jn.7:37-39), and of cleansing by the word of God. (Jn.15:3; Eph. 5:26). Since men are cleansed and born again by the Word ( Jas. 1:18, 1 Pet.1:23), it is clear that being born of water means being born again by the Word of God.
God bless you
