I believe our "recession" would not be a "recession" if people would stop saying we are in a "recession".

Gasoline is going down in price, makes a more confident market.  Its rediculous!

We are not in a recession.  For the love of Pete.

I believe that we are in a recession, but, not like it was in the late 70s and early 80s.  I remember going to public school and sitting in dark classrooms, and being served cold lunches in the cafeteria.

Yes, Bro. Ginder, I agree.  It is so bad that people are going to sales racks and thrift stores to buy clothes.........................poor, poor people.  In my teen years, people thought that it was wonderful to even get brand new clothes or even better, a person went up in social status if they could afford a brand-new car instead of a used one.

Our society is so spoiled, that people think that they are in "desperate" times, when all their "wants" cannot be met.

It is a bunch of political hoopla.  The stack market is NOT our economy its an entirely diffrent aspect of things.  The Banking industry, again not our economy.

The economy is the spendable money.  The money in our pockets witht he ability to spend it.  Maybe I just live in a place where the recession is less impact.  I however, read an article not to long ago that placed the town I am  in as the #2 impacted town.  If thats the case then we are CLEARLY not in a recession and its all about polotics.  Pathetic!

I must admit that Ohio is hit hard right now, with many of the manufacturing jobs closing up.  But, in my opinion, GM paid employees way too much for their jobs.  In fact, our newspaper stated that one man who was a janitor for GM made $100,000 annually!  I'll work as a janitor for that much money!!!!

But, there are many homes up for sale.  One thing that is nice about my generation and the younger generations is that we know that we live in a world of change, and have to be willing to adapt to different education and skills.  The older generation was used to landing a good job right out of high school, and that was it.  Not like that anymore.

Also, I am going through the Larry Burkett series on "How to manage your money" with my college/careers class on Wed. evenings.  Even churches need to teach their people to budget their money and to pay their bills.  That is sad, that people (especially Christians) cannot live within their means.

The most important thing that I am learning in this class is about stewardship.  Did you know that the word "Steward" according to Webster's Dictionary means: "One who manages another's property"?  That definition brings a whole new meaning to what Jesus meant when He constantly spoke about us being good Stewards.  Money, property, time, etc. totally belongs to Him.

In fact, I don't worry about the economy.  Because, the Bible says that God will supply every need of ours.......................not our wants.  God won't let us go hungry, without shelter, without clothing, etc.  That is all I need.

The older generation did not land a good job right out of high school.  They took what ever they could get and they were dedicated to their employers.  Who in turn were dedicated to them.  Which grew into a good job.

The younger ones think they deserve a managers job right out of high school. Its like being in senate for a short time and wanting to be president.  Oh wait that is happening as well.

The hard hit areas of Michigan, and Ohio with the automobile industry has been a fight for the last 20 years.  Its had ups and downs, but none the less a fight to maintain.  It is inevitable and could have bene prevented.  I am sorry for those it is affecting so drastically, and I know God will supply if they will let him.

Steward also applies to relationships.  People, are one of the most important things we need to steward in our lives.  To many forget that.  Anyway.  Thanks for listneing.  God Bless

I wasn't thinking................many people live in a different state than I do!

In Ohio and Indiana (and Michigan), people could land jobs immediately out of high school to work in the automobile factories and steel mills.  My dad was making at least $20 an hour in the mid-70s in the factory.  These three states had it pretty good.  Now, these same 3 states are suffering as factories are becoming more obsolete, and the pay is going down to where it should be for unskilled workers.

I agree about stewardship with relationships.  We need to prioritize our time to cultivate relationships.  This is extremely important when winning people to God.  We get too busy in our lives to tell someone that we love them and appreciate them.  Last year, there were quite a few people that I wish that I could say that just one more time to, before they slipped into eternity.
