Okay...here I go! **Please remember I'm 16 and don't know everything, so if I get something wrong...just let me down gently...

First of all, the constitution never states "seperation of church and state".

In 8th grade my teacher told me to find it in the constitution and I looked and looked. Never found it. I did find one thing that SEEMED somewhat similar (I don't remember what it was now), but it was really my mind just trying to get an A and I was freaking out because I couldn't find it. I was VERY embarrassed when my teacher told me that it wasn't in there! BUT I saw for myself it wasn't in there!!

Secondly, my OPINION only....

I think the church needs to stand up for their beliefs...BUT I don't think it is right for a preacher to stand up and say to the congregation something like: "If you think Obama is not the anti-Christ, you're going to *a not so pretty place*" I think that is wrong. But the church standing up for what we believe? Making sure our religious rights are not being taken away? I think that's okay.

Raquel--REMEMBER...the 16 year old.... *small voice: don't yell*

No yelling good point we hear that the constitution says sepparation of church and state but just like everything else we just take thing at face value and don't check things out ourself.  Proud of you even is you had to lol do the same with the word of God.  And I don't believe Obama is the anti-christ.

Haha! It was just an example that some kids in my school say their pastors are saying.

Its easy to blame someone else when we are not doing what we should.  We do live in a country that we the people can make a differance.  And I don't think any pastor should be preaching something that is not in the word.  Two verses I would give you to get into your heart, Well maybe three , first II Peter3:9, next II Timothy 2:15, finaly Hebrews 13:17. The last one may not seen to fit but get your bible and a lexicon or bible  dictionary and check out the word definition for Obey and compare it to other places like where the word obey is used in "children obey your parents" and let me know what you find.

I believe that under certain conditions, ours being one of them, the Church should BE the government. At this point, what do we have to lose? Our entire system is based upon secular law, with anything remotely "biblical" being thrown away as outdated and socially backwards, politically incorrect...and just look at where we are now. Seriously. I'd even be satisfied if Christians banded together with enough political sway behind them to secede and form their own government, the final separation from the corruption being forced upon us. The Jews can have their State, the Muslims theirs...what about us?

I hate to think it, but the facts are all around us...its becoming very difficult to be a Christian in this "free" nation, where pastors have been warned, intimidated and threatened BY LAW to dilute their sermons...wouldn't want to "stir anybody up" now would we? There will come a time when the free expression of our lifestyle is illegal, when something as precious as the Bible is viewed as contraband. When will we decide to put a stop to it?

Steve

There was  a time I might agree with you but let us remember Jesus said my kindom is not of this world.  We are also told we are in the world but not of the world.  Our reward comes when we leave this life.  But for now we are to reach as many as we can for Jesus.  Our suffering is but for a season what is this life but a vapor.  Jesus never said that serving him would be easy.  Here is the thing we can have a relationship with God in any kind of government.

As for banding together that would be nice if the ultra legalistic can put down their jugmentalism but as far as they are concerned the rest of us are not Christians therin lies a problem we christians have not learned to love one another regardless of our differance of opinion.  We have not learned what Paul was trying to tell us in Romans:14

Sorry this seems criptic but I am almost asleep just checked this before heading to bed.  I will check this earlier over the next few days.  And respond a bit better.

God Bless
